Marco Simoncelli – 01/20/1987 – 10/23/2011

Today we lost another motorsport genius in a terrible accident. And it’s the second in a week, considering Dan Wheldon’s fatal crash last week in Las Vegas, for the last race of Indy’s 2011 season.

When I say “genius”, I mean it. To push yourself to best race series in the world and get good results is something that only a few can achieve.

I don’t know how long this video will be available on youtube, but this post is my tribute to him. R.I.P Marco Simoncelli!

2012 Camaro ZL1 @Nürburgring: 7:41:2

I find it awesome how these guys take an already high end car and makes it even greater. Ok, it still doesn’t turn like a Porsche but it accelerates like hell!

Total lap time: 7:41:2

Pagani Huayra

I confess I thought it was computer graphics, but then I saw the guy standing bside it! This Pagani Huayra it’s unreal!

The monster data:
Engine: Mercedes-AMG V12 Bi-Turbo M158, 5980 cc
Engine Power: 700hp
Chassis: Carbotanium (Carbon AND Titanium! HOLY CRAP!)

Americruise 2011 Street Racing and Burnouts

Yes, my friends… when the fun became obligation, we leave it behind. Let’s see if I can put this thing together again! This video made me drool eye-fixed to the screen. Love too see those V8 screaming over the night!

Have fun!

National Auto Museum – Brasília, Brazil

Last Sunday we went to Brasilia, our federal capital, to visit my family and ended up visiting the National Auto Museum too. Right behind the semi-abandoned reception table was a beautiful collection of old cars, parts and some history. The nationals Puma, GT Malzoni e FNM to the classics Alfa Romeo, Fords e Chevys, jsut to pick a few names. Here are some of the tons of pictures I took:

The most sad thing about it is that the museum may disapear. The government department who owns the building want it back and they have no other place to keep it going. If you wanna help preserving this piece of car history, please visit: http://www.museudoautomovel.org.br/

Formula Truck – Interlagos 07/03/2011

Here we go again: it’s been a while since my last post about my trips to the race track, and I’m sorry for that because I keep going there on a regular basis. This time the race was awesome, Formula Truck is one of our favorites and we can see it only once in a year, which make it even more special. We also got a new place to watch it as you can see on the pics. Thanks to the traffic jam, we had to stay at this spot. Pure luck!

Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC SE vs Nissan GT-R

Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC SE. Being that long, looks like the name of a king. If you’re one of those the thinks this bunch of acronyms is all about marketing, try to explain it all without them: Traction control, launch control, quick shifter and even electronic assistance to help when you want to show off doing some wheelies. Want more? 180bhp to fry your tires! (But don’t forget to turn the traction control off).

This fight might look unfair, but it’s still a good reference for comparison as the Nissan GT-R is not simple “sports car”. Watch and enjoy it!

Hey Ken Block, you’re done!

Nothing to say, this kid rocks!

The Bike Dance

This one happened at Magny-Cours, in some short of promotional championship. The unlucky (unskilled?) guy in the white bike falls and end up knocking down the guy on the green motorcicle. The result is a pissed of pilot, a shame-faced rider and a very happy couple of bikes!
